Jon AZUA is Chairman CEO and founder of
e-novatinglab Group, a think tank and venturing platform focus on
strategy, competitiveness and city-regional development, located in
Bilbao.
He served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Basque Government
(1991-1995), Minister Secretary of Industry and Energy (1991-1995),
Minister Secretary of Presidency (1987-1989) and Minister of health
and Labor (1985-1987) in the Basque Court. A former member of
the Basque Parliament, former CEO of the Bilbao Stock Exchange and
Bilbao Plaza Financiera Inc. (1989-1991). Former managing
partner for Strategy and Public Services Industry, at Andersen and
Bearingpoint Inc.
Born in Bilbao, graduated in Industrial Engineering from Anahuac
University (Mexico) and Bilbao Engineering School (UPV Basque
Country), MBA from IESE-Navarra University and PHD IN Business &
Public Administration from Lasalle University. Recipient of
the Eisenhower Fellowship (1998) and author of numerous books and
scholarly publication( last published: “ Clustering and Glokal
strategies”).
He is a visiting professor for Competitiveness at Deusto University
(Basque Country) and the M.O.C. network at Harvard Institute of
Strategy and Competitiveness; Chairman of the Advisory Board of the
Basque Institute of Competitiveness and professor-director of the
Basque Competitiveness Chair at CEIBS in Shanghai.
Mr. AZUA serves as director in numerous Boards: GUASCOR (Renewable
Energy), PRAXIS PHARMA GROUP, IMQ GROUP (Health assurance), ORACLE
IBERICA, CITIES-Metropoli FOUNDATION ,and the Solomon R. Guggenheim
Foundation at NY. Senior advisor to corporations and non for
profit organizations worldwide.
His last books and publications include “Alianzas coopetitivas para
la nueva economía “( Netting coopetitive strategies for the new
economy) and “ Clusterizar y Glokalizar la Economía” ( Cluster and
Glokal Strategies).
