Throughout the recent history of Mexico, the city of Monterrey has been synonymous with labour and industry, and in recent years its economic boom has led it to be an avant-garde center of arts and sciences. Monterrey is the capital of the modern and industrious state of Nuevo Leon and not only has the Northern International Airport, which is located 24 kilometers northeast of the city, and Mariano Escobedo International Airport, but is well connected to Mexico City and the U.S border, by the main road system in the country and it also has a top railroad system.

Monterrey is a great metropolis of 3.5 million inhabitants framed by the majestic “Cerro de la Silla”, emblem of the city. At the centre is the Plaza, identifiable by the flamboyant Trade Lighthouse, the elegant Government Palace and the Cathedral. 

Monterrey is known as “La Sultana del Norte” perhaps by its proud and rugged landscape, it is also known as The City of Mountains and very Dynamical City. Each of its mounts accurately reflects the versatile face of the city. Although undoubtedly it is the major industrial city in Mexico, the importance of the business in Monterrey and its culture has crossed its borders, thanks to the prestigious Technology Institute, a colossal and modern tourism infrastructure and which has hosted major international summits recently.
